After I had been to Vancouver several times, I thought it would be a great idea to take the train there from my home on Ontario. Although this was a really long trip, I got to see so much along the way and plan may rail trip perfectly. By visiting the ViaRail website I could plan almost every aspect of my trip and even choose the routes I wanted to take. They have several different packages to choose from so you can choose where you get to stop for exploring and even how many nights you stop to stay at different luxury hotels.

No matter where you live, the rail is always a great way to explore British Columbia. You get to see the mountains, the fields, the wildlife and the amazing maritime culture from a beautiful luxury train car. Although I have to tell you that this railway trip was almost double the price of simply flying out there it was a really different way to experience Vancouver. Although I had already been there twice before, I was able to see sites and attractions I had never seen before and enjoy a great train ride with great food and people.
If you are planning on travelling to Vancouver alone, as I did, taking the train is a great way to meet new people and see a side of Vancouver that you cannot see by flying there. This is an investment I am glad I made it was an experience of a lifetime. |
